This family was out enjoying a drive through the woods while on vacation in central Oregon when they took a turn a little too tight and high centered on a rock. I used my @harborfreight jack with the @911Motorsports jack extension kit to lift the vehicle off the rocks and place blocks under it, then hooked up to it with my @YankumRopes gear to pull it backwards off the rock. I got called by a couple who was stranded in a mountain top lookout tower by a surprise snow that came a day early. They had planned to leave that morning before the snow came the following evening, but when they woke up they were greeted by around 18” of snow that their Subaru couldn’t get through. What they didn’t know was that down the mountain farther the snow was WAY worse and they were in a lot more serious of a situation than they thought. When they called me, we decided that since there was no more snow coming that day or night, it would make sense to wait until the following day so that we had a full day to perform the rescue, and that allowed me to formulate a better plan. Since this was so far away from home, and was so deep into the wilderness, I didn’t want to try this one alone. So I called my buddy Adam with Remote Access Medical, and he brought along his medic Bryan to help out. The following morning we took my American Track Truck @Jeep, and Adam’s @AmericanExpeditionVehicles Prospector up and ran into FAR more snow than we were expecting. We ended up hitting about 4’ of snow at a very low elevation and all came to the conclusion that there was no way that car was getting out in one piece, so this was most likely turning into a people rescue mission, not a vehicle recovery. After an hour and a half of pushing through the snow, we finally made it to the top were we had a long conversation with the owners and they made the call to take the risk, and try to get the car out anyways. A Ford F-150 pulling a 5th wheel travel trail became stuck in the sand while trying to get to a remote campsite in the desert outside of Silver Lake Oregon. I headed down there in the 4x4 tow truck to winch it out and get him back onto the main road so he could find another camp site

After a little exploring in the Lava Cast forest area of the Deschutes National Forest, the Jeep Cherokee broke through the crust of the snow and got stuck. Then when the Wrangler tried pulling him out he broke through and got stuck as well. They tried all day to free themselves, but finally had to call for a ride and hike out to get back to town for the night. Then this morning I went up with our off road recovery Jeep to get them winched out and back out of the woods

A couple friends on vacation to central Oregon tried to find their way to Chush Falls in the Cascade mountains. Unfortunately Google maps sent them the wrong way and led them to a dead end. While trying to turn around they became high centered on a tree stump. Luckily there was no damage to the car, and after some careful jacking and winching, we got the car free with no damage and it was able to drive away and on to the next adventure
